Great Britain desires to see “an Egypt enjoying the national prerogatives and the international position of a sovereign state.”
It is affirmed that the intention, already declared, is to abolish the Protectorate. The attitude of the government on Egypt is precisely defined in a white paper upon which Mr Lloyd George made a statement in the House of Commons yesterday.
